“Turn around.” Dylan’s low voice echoed in the bathroom.
He did as instructed, skin goose bumping in the chill air. Thick fingers touched either side of his torso and gently pressed down into his lower back. “Does it hurt?”
He shook his head.
“Turn back around.”
He faced the front and watched as Dylan moved large hands over his torso, gentle but firm. He pressed a little more on the right hand side. “What about here? Hurt at all?”
“No.” He exhaled a shaky breath. No matter how much he told his dick not to take interest in the proceedings, he became more and more aroused at every touch.
Then Dylan did something so strange it snapped him out of his fog of desire. The man leaned in towards Aeron and sniffed him.
“Jesus.” Aeron took a step back, butting up against the sink behind him. “Did you just smell me?”
Q&A WITH SKYE JONES
Today I’m very lucky to be interviewing Skye Jones author of Claimed by Desire.
Hi Skye, thank you for agreeing to this interview. Tell us a little about yourself, your background, and your current book.
Thanks for having me J I am a fairly newly published author in the romance genre, although I have been writing for years. I write paranormal and contemporary M/M, M/F, and M/M/F romance.
What is the most satisfying thing about being a writer?
I just love writing. The process of writing. I particularly like the stage where a new idea grabs me. It often won’t let me go and I keep thinking about the story and the characters. It’s almost a little bit like falling in love, and after the infatuation stage comes the hard work where you have to actually write and edit the story! But I do love the whole process. It’s amazing to lose yourself in other people and other worlds. The only thing I enjoy as much as writing is reading. In fact I sometimes read when I should be writing and I need to get a handle on that!
Do your characters ever take over your writing and make the story go somewhere you hadn’t originally planned?
They always do. Every single time! Or I should say, they do on the books that get finished. If my characters don’t get to that stage where they take on a life of their own, I know the project isn’t working for me at that moment in time and I’ll leave it to either come back to later or write off as one that didn’t work.
How did you celebrate the release of your book?
It’s not out yet so I don’t know how I will celebrate. And I can’t remember how I celebrated the release of the others I have out. I do remember when I got my first ‘yes’ from my publisher I celebrated then. I had champagne with my husband. It was an amazing moment.
How did you come up with the idea for this book?
Dylan was a secondary character in book one of this series. I knew as soon as I met him I wanted him to have his own book. I’d already done some character work on him, because even minor characters get their own character sheets and photos, etc. So once I began the story I already knew Dylan’s overall story arc and his character.
But then Aeron came along – and the story changed somewhat from my original idea. But I love Aeron. He’s a total sweetheart. Once I had my two main characters and knew their lives and challenges, then I figured out the plot from there. I did know though that I wanted this story to be different from the first. Dylan was going to be this very lonely character, and that’s different from the first book where there was a pack and lots of characters.
Have you ever written naked?
Ha ha. Probably! I do write in bed a lot so I may have written naked. I can’t remember a specific instance though.
