Welcome to the 2nd Manlove Sunday blog hop!
Hunter and Alex decided to stay through the hurricane about to descend on the island of Saba, adrenaline junkies that they are…
The staccato sound of hammers driving nails into plywood and the buzz of chainsaws taking down trees and branches dangerously close to houses invaded the quiet afternoon. Rain pattered and pocked the surface of the pool.
“I hope Rowdy can get Talisha to go with him.” Alex placed the last of the folded chairs into the shed. He picked up a bag of damp towels to bring to the laundry room. “Before the planes and ferries stop.”
“I hope we don’t run out of lube and rum.” Hunter slung a net bag of pool toys into the shed over the chairs with a grin.
“We should find our phones and charge them up,” Alex said with a worried air. “Call family and tell them we’re okay. They’re bound to see the weather reports for this area.”
Hunter frowned at Alex’s serious tone. “Vacation’s not over yet. How about a skinny dip before all hell breaks loose?”
“Orfeo needs our help.” Alex glanced at the pool and back to Hunter with a smile at the corner of this mouth.
Heh. He can’t resist me. “They’ve been getting ready for this since yesterday’s hurricane watch was issued. Come on.” Hunter stepped close, crowding Alex against the shed. He put his arms on either side of Alex’s body, palms flat against the shed to cage him in. He pitched his voice low and dirty, just the way Alex liked. “You know you want to. Everybody’s gone. We can have sex in the pool, and no one would care.”
“It’s going to pour soon. But it’s so warm, I don’t care.”
Alex’s eyes shifted to the pool again. “Later tonight? Maybe when it gets dark. We should be helping them, Hunter.”
Alex was right, of course. He kissed him softly on the lips in agreement, but he tasted so good, he nibbled a line across his jaw and down his neck. He thought of the dead man with the necklace of bruises, and the sexy mood died away. Crap.
“Hey, if shit goes south, you know I love you with all my heart and soul, right?” It hurt to say because the feeling was so big it filled his chest, made his heart hammer, and pulse pound. He wanted to cry and shout at the same time. It made him want to make that rash proposal, but he suddenly feared Alex would say no, and then, irrationally, that he’d say yes.
“Heart and soul, baby. But shit’s not going south if I can help it.” Hand going to the back of Hunter’s neck to pull him forward, he gave Hunter a heart-stopping kiss of such heat, Hunter felt like he was giving off steam. Alex’s mouth devoured him; Hunter tasted his smile.
“Up against the garden shed is good, too,” Hunter murmured. “Turn around.”
Alex gave him a push. “Later. Let’s drop this stuff off.” He hefted the bag of towels over his shoulder. “I’m starting to get hungry again. Orfeo promised to feed us.”
