#8sunday Weekend Writing Warriors: Burning Sky #32

This link will take you to the start of Burning Sky:

“It’s not a broken cog.” Rosida got to his feet. I missed his warmth. “It’s from her dream.” He stalked away. Returning to the opposite side of the campfire, he lay on his side with his back to me.

“Death and destruction,” she murmured as she obsessively picked up the cards again.

The image was too much like my own memories. A shudder of superstition swept through me.  Perhaps it was meant for me alone, after all.

“In my dream, I looked up, and they had filled the sky with a killing fire.”

A sky filled with killing fire Doesn’t sound like something to look forward to. Oh my! Enjoyed the snippet. 🙂

I love the image of a sky being filled with fire. It could mean so many things with so many different implications. Thanks so much for sharing!

It was tough picking one for the story–it could go so many different ways based on that..

I don’t know what the sky imagery is, although if it were a story set in modern times I’d say a bomb. It’s definitely not good, though!

You’ve done such a terrific job with this fortune telling and foreshadowing, and building tension! Love it, another excellent snippet.

Very intriguing. So much so that I went and read the rest. Nicely done, Heloise.
