The sequel to Hitting Black Ice (Loose Id 12/2014) released April 19, 2016! 😀 Send Lawyers, Guns, and Roses…but how about a little more Nick? This is from His Dark Reflection, from Hank, his future love interest’s, perspective…

Hank, a homicide detective, has caught a break in his murder case. He’d had to interview Nick as the neighbor of the murder victim and felt an instant attraction. Hank’s gone into the local bar to have some dinner and a few beers…Nick is picking up an evening’s entertainment.

*

Hank looked over his shoulder and met Nick St Cloud’s glance. The man smiled; he touched his tongue to his bottom lip, then he bit it, as if trying to suppress that smile.

Back away from the big pretty cat, Hank.

As ever, he felt pulled into Nick’s brown eyes, tugged against him as if he couldn’t resist. He was still married—he had to resist.

“Evening.” Hank waved the newspaper between them as if he could swat his attraction to Nick away.

  1. [“Evening.” Hank waved the newspaper between them as if he could swat his attraction to Nick away.] — If only it was that easy! Of course, it wouldn’t be nearly as interesting a story if it was. 🙂

  2. There’s a lot packed in here! Some really great lines, too. I could just picture that lip-lick thing, and I *love* “big, pretty cat.”
