“Rainbow Snippets is a group for LGBTQIA authors, readers, and bloggers to gather once a week to share six sentences from a work of fiction–a WIP or a finished work or even a 6-sentence book recommendation (no spoilers please!).
In this group you’ll find anything from romance and historical fiction to mystery and YA. The common thread is that every story’s main character identifies as LGBTQIA. The snippets could range from zero flames to full-on sexytimes, anything goes content-wise. The only rule is snippets will be 6 sentences long–one for each color in the Pride flag.”
Welcome to another weekend filled with Rainbow Snippets!
The link below will take you to the public Facebook group where you find both new and established authors posting bits from their WIPs and new releases:
The creative process always surprises me and gifted me with this paranormal story idea some time ago–a hidden kingdom somewhere in the mountains between China and Nepal in the 19th century. Of which I know nothing about, or shifters for that matter. It’s stuck with me for the better part of a year, and the cup just overflowed the other night, and I began with this scene that’s been lurking around…
Shin gamboled about in snow leopard form, ignoring the formal proceedings and despite the fact that we stood here in the cold waiting for him to choose. Choose a companion, one who would accompany him through the rest of his childhood—learning what he learned from books and tutors, eating whatever and whenever he wanted, sleeping in soft luxury, experiencing all life had to offer at the Cloud Court, no matter his or her family’s status.
Another choice awaited them at the end of the summer road of childhood, but that was hardly as pressing as this morning’s proceedings. My son waged war in the frosted grass, chasing the cloudy puffs of his breath—the whip of his tail the a hint of his irritation—with me and all the rest of it. His blue eyes were dark with suppressed fury.
