Onward to another paragraph from one of my WIPs Last Dance: Watching Rocco, Joey is trying to get up the nerve to ask him to dance. But Joey sees the ghost of Donna Summer, which apparently heralds a seizure.

This is the last line from Last Dance #4: Rocco had come to my rescue…

Tears rose at the shame and terrible familiarity of my position. I must have missed some of my doses of pheno. I put a hand over my eyes.

“Oh, honey,” said the bride, Viola. Blond and blue-eyed, we raised eyebrows when we told people we were brother and sister. Foster siblings.

Poor Joey. This is very intriguing. I was motivated to go back and get all caught up on the “Last Dance” snippets I’ve missed.

That “Oh, honey” could mean a whole lot of things! I wonder what her tone of voice is here.

Poor guy. The seizure was bad enough but to have it in front of the object of his crush — and then to get fussed over by his sister. He’s probably wishing for a do over of the day by now.
